Sasha Allen is the only openly transgender performer to have completed the Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. That has been true for 21 seasons. They are the Newtown, Conn. duo is now in the top 8 of the competition! Sasha revealed that he's transgender in their Blind Auditions package. He admitted to Parade.com that it took a lot of thought to come up with the idea. Sasha stated that it was a struggle to choose because he needed to display a vulnerable aspect of himself in the presence of millions. The transition took place while the time was when he was in high school. This past week, during fans week, witnessing the love and support of fans, their reactions, and how the people reacted that it was well-worth the risk. We played the song before The Voice even existed. The moment we heard it, we were thrilled. We knew the song, and knew and we had plans to put it together.
